The Lucid Air: What Makes it Different?

Source: Motor Trend

Is it a Tesla killer? Is it made by another quirky startup with an equally eccentric leader? Will there be more slightly annoying fans who swear it’s the greatest car to ever grace the surface of the Earth? These were all questions racing through my mind when I began to analyze the new Lucid Air. At first glance there seem to be many indicators that Lucid Motors is another in a long line of American electric car start-ups continually operating on thin ice with the hope that it can cash in on the electric car craze. Now, while that notion isn’t completely false, there still is quite a bit to differentiate Lucid from the pack and also suggest that it’s a legit brand with ambitions of becoming a household name. So here’s what I think Lucid Motors is doing right and wrong with its newest and first production model: the Air.

The Ferrari 296 GTB: A Perfect Blend of Old & New

Source: Motor Trend

Here’s a fun fact: I was sitting in a Ferrari Dino 246 GT when I got the notification on my phone announcing the new Ferrari 296 GTB. Now don’t worry, I’m not just showing off, there’s a reason I’m starting the article off this way. To most car enthusiasts, this new 296 GTB is supposed to be the spiritual successor to the iconic Dino. In fact, most of us expected the 296 GTB to also be given the Dino nickname. Now while Ferrari did leave us disappointed in this respect, heritage is only one part of what makes this new release so intriguing.

Why Everyone’s Talking About the McLaren Artura

Source: Motor Trend

This past week was a big one for McLaren. First, the Formula 1 team revealed their challenger for the 2021 season, then Lando Norris played the guitar, and finally, the automotive side released a brand new supercar: the Artura. Now for some reason, everyone seems to be making quite a big fuss about the Artura. So, naturally, I thought it would be a good idea for me to take a closer look at this new release and share my passionate and occasionally irreverent set of opinions.

The New Honda Civic: Can Gear Heads Enjoy It?

Source: Motor Trend

Honda recently released several details for the new Civic, and rather surprisingly, it looks pretty exciting. For a car that is meant to be sold as a mass-market commodity, it actually seems like something that gear heads can enjoy. So, is this premonition of mine an astute observation, or just a massive jump to an ill-drawn conclusion? I suppose we should find out.

The Ferrari Roma: A New Ferrari I Actually Like

Source: Car and Driver

Now I understand that this may be perceived as a blasphemous proclamation, but I have to say it, I don’t really think all that much of Ferrari’s current lineup. Of course, you would probably assume that every car Ferrari makes is this symbol of automotive perfection, but with some of the company’s recent releases, I’m not so sure. Don’t get me wrong, the performance provided by a Ferrari is still on par with its other respective supercar competitors, but what I’m more worried about, as usual, is a lack of passion.

Why the Gordon Murray T.50 is the Last True Analog Supercar

Source: Gordon Murray Automotive

What can I say about the T.50? Well, there’s so much that needs to be said, but at the same time, I honestly don’t even know where to begin. Some of you may remember that a while back I wrote about the Koenigsegg Gemera, calling it the most important new car of the year, but I think with the T.50 we now have a challenger for that title. So, time to examine a car built by a man famous for wearing shirts.

Why the New Volkswagen Golf GTI is Still the Best Hot Hatch

Source: Automobile Magazine

Over the last month or so I’ve had numerous requests from friends of mine asking the same question: “what car can I buy for around $30,000?” After considering this inquisition for myself (for about five minutes) I decided, what the hell, why not let everyone know what I think. If you read the title, you can probably deduce that I like the Volkswagen Golf GTI, and you would be absolutely right because I adore the car. Without a doubt, if you gave me $30,000 and told me to buy a new car I would bring you a Golf GTI. And in a perfect world, that would be it really. End of story. Car search, done. Unfortunately, if you live in the United States, things are a bit trickier than that. So, if you can give me your undivided attention for the next five minutes, allow me to explain.

The Maserati Alfieri: What You Need to Know

Source: Maserati

Welcome to what could potentially be one the most promising cars Maserati has made in a long time: the Maserati Alfieri. It originally started as a concept way back at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and there is absolutely no denying that it is a gorgeous looking thing. While it was unveiled in 2014, Maserati at the time claimed they had plans for it to hit production in 2020 as the replacement for the current Gran Turismo. “Coupe” and “Maserati” are great kickstarters for emotion in the automotive world, but perhaps something even more evocative is the inspiration behind the car. First off, the name Alfieri comes from Alfieri Maserati, one of the original brothers who started the company. Additionally, the Alfieri concept took many design cues from the Maserati A6, the company’s first post-war car as well as the first true road car they ever built.

Why I Want to Buy a New Land Rover Defender

Source: Car and Driver

It’s almost been a year now that I have had this website up and running, and in this time I feel I have reviewed my fair share of cars. There are certain cars that I would call “good” and others that I would politely ask you to stay away from, but there is only a small group of cars I review that I would truly consider buying for myself. So, understand the importance I place on the new Defender when I say that as soon as I set my eyes on it, I immediately wanted one.
